Secondary Questions / LGBTQ+

How does the Church teach members who experience same-sex attraction?

What the question is

The Church teaches that all people are children of God and are loved and welcomed in full fellowship. The doctrine of marriage between a man and a woman is unchanged, and the law of chastity applies equally to all members.

How this often lands

This is among the costliest of the secondary questions for many families, and the cost should be acknowledged rather than minimized. Holding to revealed doctrine while loving every person — fully and without conditions — is the lived, day-by-day discipleship of Latter-day Saints across this whole conversation.
